Ripple XRP Crypto ETFs Hold Inflows as Altcoins Cool

Ripple XRP Crypto ETFs Hold Inflows as Altcoins Cool

OCTOBER 5, 2026

Ripple-linked XRP funds have become one of the more closely watched corners of the crypto market as traders look for signs of whether institutional demand is broadening beyond the largest digital assets. Fresh flow data showed U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds continuing to attract net capital into early October, even as the value of assets held by the products slipped from a late-September peak.

The split matters for digital-asset investors because it suggests the crypto ETF trade is no longer moving as one simple risk-on basket. XRP products have retained a constructive inflow profile, but softer token pricing and cooling activity across several altcoin products point to a more selective market. That leaves XRP sitting between two narratives: improving public-market access on one side and a less aggressive altcoin allocation environment on the other.

Recent figures showed combined XRP ETF assets near $1.66 billion on Oct. 2, below the roughly $1.77 billion record reached on Sept. 25. Cumulative net inflows, however, were still reported near $1.79 billion, a sign that investors had not broadly abandoned the category even as mark-to-market pressure reduced total assets. XRP itself traded around the $1.50 area on Monday, with intraday movement contained in a narrow band.

XRP ETF Demand Stays Positive but Loses Momentum

The latest data paints a market that is resilient but not euphoric. Net inflows into XRP funds have helped validate the token’s role in the expanding ETF landscape, yet the pace of additions has slowed compared with stronger periods earlier in the quarter. A small daily outflow from one issuer at the start of October highlighted that fund-level demand can vary even when the broader category remains positive.

For traders, the key issue is whether inflows represent durable allocation or a short-term rotation into an under-owned altcoin vehicle. ETF demand can support liquidity and visibility, but it does not automatically guarantee price acceleration. When fund assets decline while cumulative inflows rise, the message is usually mixed: buyers are still present, but token performance is doing less of the work.

That distinction is especially important for XRP because the token’s investment case differs from pure store-of-value narratives. Market participants continue to focus on payments utility, cross-border settlement use cases, stablecoin infrastructure and institutional custody developments tied to the broader Ripple ecosystem. Those themes give XRP a differentiated story, but they also require evidence that real demand is converting into sustained network and market activity.

Altcoin Rotation Becomes More Selective

The broader crypto backdrop has become less forgiving for smaller and newer ETF categories. Several altcoin products saw quieter flows in the final days of September and the first days of October, suggesting that investors are becoming more selective after a strong third-quarter rebound in digital assets. That makes XRP’s continued inflow base notable, but it also raises the bar for fresh upside catalysts.

A selective rotation can be healthy if it separates tokens with clearer liquidity, regulatory and use-case narratives from purely speculative momentum trades. It can also increase volatility, because thinner inflows leave prices more exposed to derivatives positioning, macro shifts and changes in risk appetite. For XRP, the next test is whether ETF buyers keep adding exposure if the token remains near current levels rather than breaking decisively higher.

Macro conditions remain a secondary but important driver. Treasury-yield swings, U.S. dollar direction and expectations for Federal Reserve policy continue to influence demand for risk assets, including cryptocurrencies. If real yields rise or equity volatility returns, capital could become more concentrated in the most liquid digital assets, limiting the ability of altcoins to extend rallies.

What Traders Are Watching Next

In the near term, traders are watching whether XRP can hold the $1.50 area while ETF assets stabilize. A sustained move above recent intraday highs would strengthen the argument that inflows are translating into spot demand. Failure to hold that zone, by contrast, could reinforce the view that ETF buying is cushioning rather than driving the market.

The next phase of the XRP trade will likely depend on three signals: continued net creations in spot funds, stronger trading volume around the token and fresh evidence that institutional use cases are progressing. Without those confirmations, the market may treat XRP as a relative-strength story rather than a broad altcoin breakout.

For now, Ripple-linked XRP ETFs remain a bright spot in a cooler altcoin market. The category is still drawing attention and capital, but the latest figures show a more disciplined crypto market where inflows, price action and utility claims are being judged separately.
